[It's hard to miss a raging inferno when you only live a good five minutes or so away from it. So, when he's nearly home from his little battle dome adventure, he notices the fire in the distance and ... well, Yuri being Yuri, switches directions and heads straight for it.

... When he sees the two and their cheagle standing there, just watching it, he stops. He doesn't know what's going on or why it's happening (since he hasn't looked through his journal all day), and it's more than likely none of his business, but--]

... There are better ways to move out of a place than this, you know.

[Even though it's pretty clear he's not being serious, there isn't much of a teasing tone to what he said. After all, he knows better than to walk in and start trolling around when a obviously serious situation is going down.]

[Asch glances sidelong at his new audience, unresponsive at first- merely offering a dull glare as his only indication that he'd even heard. Then he turns back to the fire, more interested in making sure it burns what he wants burned than having a snark session.]

If I had just wanted to move out, I would have done that.

[... Yeah, this is definitely a situation where snark is not called for -- therefore, he doesn't say anything about how the house will probably be back in a week or however long that sort of thing takes. No doubt Asch is no mood to hear that right now.

He takes another glance at the fire for a moment or two before looking back at Asch.]

Then why ...?

[Luke will answer that one. Sort of. That nearly horrified cringe on his face tells any passerby that he had no idea Asch would set the place on fire, and it almost looks like he expects the Malnosso to smite them with lightning for committing such an atrocious act. Or something.

But once Yuri speaks up, Luke seems to break out of it a little by letting his hands fall from his head and heaving a large sigh.]

Don't ask. [Really. Don't.]

[Yuri glances over at Luke for a moment, raising an eyebrow slightly. ... Considering that he looks kinda exasperated ... yeah, Luke probably didn't realize this was going to happen.

... Which would make the person who did this probably Asch. ... In which case, yeah, he probably doesn't want to ask any further.

So, he shrugs.]

Kinda hard not to, but ... whatever. Not gonna break my heart either way.

[Luke glances at Yuri, then at Asch... Then, he moves to take Yuri's arm and lead him a few feet away, where he'll lean in to whisper:]

You know that... Guy went back, right?

[Said leading away throws Yuri off a little (heck, if Luke didn't end up saying something right afterward, he might've gotten an earful about it), but hearing what he had to say ...]

... Yeah. I heard about it. [While he doesn't always speak up, he certainly does go through the journal network fairly often.]

[Luke glances down at the floor, his expression sobering into something that's just... sad and depressed. He's not as bad as when he first found out, at least, but still... That was his best friend.]

Guy and Asch were... [Uh. How does he...? Considering their relationship still weirded him out, despite how much he vouched for it. Luke can't help reaching to rub the back of his neck as he tries to spit it out, though quietly; he's sure Asch doesn't want Luke telling everyone about this.] Uh... really close.

Huh?

["Really close"? ... Oh, did he mean they were good friends or something? Yeah, he knew that already. Geez, was Asch that sensitive about who he's friends with that Luke has to be all whispery and awkward about it? Weird, man.]

... Oh, yeah. I figured they were. They seemed like it, anyway.

[... From the little he's managed to catch over the journal from random glances, anyway-- Oh wait, he sees where this is going. He pauses for a moment.]

Wait, then that's why he ... [Yuri glances back at the fire for a moment. Was the house being burned down as a way of forgetting Guy or in memory of him or something? ... Yeesh.]
