Wee I'm in Scotland, you guys! :D Right now I am sitting beside
enerjak in a little apartment in Glasgow, belonging to her friend Kody. This is where I am staying for two weeks. We have already had time to do alot.
I came to Scotland on Tuesday. I arrived in Edinburgh at around noon and was met by Molly (
enerjak) and Steph (
verdant_skye) at the airport. They took me to the hotel where they had been staying overnight, and it was amazing I will tell you. We had a delicious lunch and I got to hang out in the spa section while the girls had spa treatments.
In the evening we went on a ghost tour (City of the Dead tour) in Greyfriars Graveyard. It was really exciting and I liked every bit of history and information I got to hear about the graveyard's past. We took the train to Glasgow after the tour.
Wednesday we went out to town for a bit, made bead jewelry, and had an amazingly tasty lunch/dinner that Molly cooked for us. We watched the first new episode of True Blood together before heading to bed.
Thursday we visited Steph's Aunt Myrtle who lives here in Glasgow. She was a darling! So sweet and nice to talk to. Myrthle's daughter and granddaughter were also there and we had a great time just chatting and having tea. She is born the same year as my Grandmother too. But yea, she was a very sweet lady, and her granddaughter Mhairi followed us on the bus back to town. We might meet up with her another day while here in Scotland.
Today we went about town for a while. I got myself a travel sketchbook and some cheap, pretty underwear, and a new PJ's (my current ones are old, old, old). Then we went to West end to meet Jaimie, a friend of Molly's. We had drinks together at a pub and hung out for a while, then we all headed over to an incredible restaurant called Ketchup. They had some of the most incredible burgers I have ever seen! So, so tasty too. OM NOM NOM.
The amazing lunch that Molly made for us, beads, Layton figurine, and Steph in the background.
I got to try a traditional Canadian breakfast one day; pancakes with syrup and butter and bacon.
Molly! :D We went for noodles at a very good place here, called Ichiban.
Their yakisoba was very tasty. And we got huuuge servings.
The view from the balcony of the apartment where I am staying.
Hamburgers at Ketchup! Their burgers were AMAZING. As I am sure you can tell by this photo collage.
This was ONE dessert. We split it four ways and that was more than enough. JUST LOOK AT THAT THING.
Yup.
Tomorrow we are going to Inverness, Loch Ness, and Skye in the north for a couple of days. We'll be back in Glasgow on Monday evening.
