Oh, my gods. Oh, my gods. These last couple days have been such a rollercoaster, it's insane.
Well, referring back to my last post here, the next day, apparently any "family discussing" was done without me, because Dad was saying that the only thing he could do was euthanize her. Well, I was just heartbroken, because there is no way I could allow him to just murder my cat like that, and I told him so. But then he kept going on and on about because she's a biter, she's a "vicious" cat and he was legally liable for all this big list of crap that would bankrupt the whole family for thousands and thousands if someone sued, and even that I could sue him for the incident and blah blah blah. Oy. But I didn't get any choice in the matter.
Then, bless their precious hearts, yuuo and zannechaos were absolutely outraged and pulled as many strings as they could to coordinate a way to rescue Marbles. They almost had a representative from the Coalition for Pet Protection show up that very night, but I asked if it could be arranged the next afternoon, and they said OK--their person couldn't get Marbles then, but if I called the hotline all should be fine.
So, then, I did call the CPP the next day, only to leave a message. When someone called back, they said they couldn't take her. ;_; Fortunately, I was able to talk to one more angel.

Dear, sweet, amazing and wonderful dmoira!
I called her, mostly just for moral support, because I knew she'd understand the situation. And when I told her what happened, I heard the most wonderful words ever. She volunteered, before I even could have asked, to take Marbles into her home for me. She's adopting my kitty, for as long as I need her too--she just took her tonight.
So, thanks to my dear and wonderful, amazing friends, my cat is safe and sound and in a home where I know she'll be taken care of very well. Bless you all--you're better friends than I could EVER have asked for, ESPECIALLY you, dmoira! You're a lifesaver--a real, genuine and literal lifesaver, and I will love you for it forever. ^_^<3
My folks don't yet know about the arrangement yet, but I don't care. My cat is safe, all the kids in my family are safe, and that's what matters most.
