These are, without doubt, the most complex earrings I have ever attempted. The design is inspired by Anglo-Saxon metalwork, specifically the Staffordshire Hoard and the Sutton Hoo treasure, they took three days, are of silver and cold enamel and I think I lost many brain cells in their creation because at one point it reached 32 degrees centigrade in my workshop and that was WITH my little air conditioning unit on. If that happened to Feanor, I can see why he lost it because I am now somewhat myopic from staring at tiny detail for three days and have the headache from Mordor, which can inspire either crankiness or unfortunate incidents at seaside resorts.
Anyway, here they are, I'm very proud of them.
They measure 4.5cm top to bottom and have a post behind the top section which makes them hang beautifully. They are for sale *resists urge to look pathetically hopeful* and because they are technically a prototype, I am selling them for rather less than they are actually worth, £75 plus postage. I'm always willing to discuss payment plans, but please remember I have very little silver left and this will allow me to buy more, or no more pretties! I wish I could keep these, they are so elegant and the pictures really don't do them justice, but alas, I cannot afford to buy my own jewellery!
