Payment plans!!

Nov 11, 2012 17:03

Just a quick post because I wanted to highlight something. I know my jewellery is beyond the reach of some people, hell, it'd be beyond my reach if I didn't make it and I can't afford to make my stuff for myself most of the time! So I just wanted to make sure folks were aware that I am perfectly happy to negotiate a payment plan if there's something you love but can't afford in one go. The system would work like this:

1. You see and like shiny and go "HOW MUCH?! But I like it! AAAGGHH!"
2. You go, "Well ok, I'll contact Mirien and ask about a payment plan, she doesn't bite, well only if startled."
3. I say, "Of course!" and we negotiate what suits both of us, because trust me, I get about not being able to afford stuff I really like.
4. You pay the installments and I keep a note of when they're all paid.
5. I make your shiny and post it! Simples! *makes meerkat advert noise*

BUT and this is the key thing, I won't be able to offer refunds on this unless the item is faulty (unlikely!). If you paid for it outright, that would be it and it would be paid for, so if after 3 payments with 3 to go, or whatever, you change your mind, that's it I'm afraid, the money paid thus far will be the cancellation fee. I can always extend plans and help in any way I can, but I don't want to set myself up for someone changing their mind because this benefits me as well as you, enabling me to supplement my income as we go along. It may not be how other places do it, but for the moment, it's how I will do it, so PLEASE BEAR THAT IN MIND.

The other thing to be sure you're aware of is that I'll start your item only when all the installments are paid, so you will be waiting the length of time it takes to pay. I can't and won't risk making something, even for someone I count as a friend, only to have it all fall through, it doesn't make for good feeling between friends.

All that said, I will help all I can, not only do I need to make some money, I want to make my jewellery available to people who think they can't afford it because I feel strongly that being financially challenged or like me, poor as the proverbial church mouse, should NOT mean you can't have nice things.

Sooo have another look here http://mirien.livejournal.com/302537.html and don't forget the kitties!

*kitty eyes* I'm dying to make that oak leaf necklace in particular, with the pearls and moonstones and and...think of the pretty!
