Altamont Fairgrounds
This week's Metroland has my long-in-coming article about the tension between the Altamont Fairgrounds and some of its longest term nonprofit renters as the fair takes a more "business" approach to its rentals. It's a tough situation, and everyone who spoke with me was nervous about possible repercussions, meaning I spent a lot of time in writing this piece trying to spell out what people were and weren't saying. Still, it's an issue that will affect a lot of people in this region and worth being part of the public discussion.
