So here's what I want to know: I thought downtown Saratoga Springs was doing well--thriving even? So why in the world is the downtown-that-challenged-the-malls nearly dead at 8 PM in the evening the week before Christmas this year? Is this usual?
To be fair, almost dead is relative. The restaurants were open. Borders was open (and quite busy). A few shops were open. It wasn't like suburbia or anything. But a majority of shops selling what you'd think would be very gifty items were quite closed. Very strange indeed.
