Just watched V for Vendetta. Awesome. Lots of coolness with British accents. (This happens when I write film reviews.)
Sometimes I sit in a bus on weekend evenings and a big group of younger teens comes in. Kids around 14 or 15, usually. I see their appearance that is dominated by wanting to be older and cooler than they are and I hear their trivial conversations and I just feel so old. Because I feel so much more mature than them. Granted, I think I was more mature than them even back when I was their age. Simply because I've always known that life is about more than being popular, skinny, having a hot boyfriend, being so cool when you do forbidden things like smoking and getting pissed until you throw up.
It's sort of nice to have an occasional reminder that I actually have a life. And not such a bad one at that. At least I know where I'm going and I don't just live for the moment.
Maybe I'm generalising. Maybe some of these kids do have personalities that goes deeper than their make-up or their hooded jumpers. They just make it a bit hard to believe.
Oh crap! I've finished my chocolate! *sulks* But that's okay, because now I shall read Stephen King and hope I will be able to sleep after that.
