As those of you who missed me on Skype last night might have guessed, Chris couldn't fix my computer. He says I could take it to a shop if I want to, but since he couldn't fix, they probably can't do anything either. [insert swearwords here]
Luckily I discovered that uni doesn't start until next week, so even though the lack of computer is driving me crazy, I don't need it desperately at the moment.
I can't afford a new laptop until I get my student loan, and I won't get my student loan until I get my freaking results. It's been two weeks! Just how long can it take to grade a few essays?!
Sorry, just... pissed off. Getting withdrawal symptoms 'n stuff.
Went to John and Amy's place for dinner last night, which was very enjoyable. We watched some Dr Who, namely the first episode from the very first season from the 60's, the first episode from the new show and then a random episode that Amy picked. It had werewolves and Queen Victoria. Not to mention David Tennant, who is really cute. John is such a huge Dr Who-geek that any of my obsessions look rather insignificant next to his. :P But I've enjoyed these episodes a lot, so I'm definitely going to allow him to educate me further in the wonderful world of the Doctor.
Afterwards we watched a live-action movie of He-man. It was really 80's, really campy and really, really bad, but so hilarious.
If I was back in high school, being without a computer wouldn't be so bad. For one thing, I'd be too busy to idle away my time on the internet, and I did half of my schoolwork that required computers at school anyway. For another thing, I'd be surrounded by family and friends all the time. Here, I live alone and I don't see my friends every day. The only social contact I have on a daily basis is through Skype and Gmail. Without that, I feel extremely isolated and lonely.
I think I'll just have to take the initiative. Both Amy and Jenny are on maternity leave now, so they should have time to hang out. Yes. Sounds like a plan.
