Don't worry, peoples, I'm still alive! The sun tried its best to murder me, but its attempts were in vain.
We did a bit of sight-seeing in Copenhagen, which would have been more fun if it hadn't been so darn hot. But at least we saw Jesus and the twelve apostles in Fruekirken. That was nice. I also bought a new, fancy adapter and new, comfy underwear. Mmmm, comfy underwear...
Oh, Jared and I found a role-playing shop near where we were staying. They had pretty awesome costumes and weapons, but I didn't think it wise to buy any of those, since our suitcases are packed full as it is. I dd, however, buy six dice of my own choice for 25 Danish kroner, and Munchkin Bites 1 and 2. Go me!
Now I'm in Geeeeeermany. Which is full of Geeeeermans. First Jared and I went to Hameln, where my mother is staying at the moment. Hameln is full of rats. Rat pictures, rat toys, rat statues, rat biscuits... And here we were thinking that they were glad to get rid of the rats back in the days of the Pied Piper. :P
We saw an open-air musical based on the Pied Piper story, called Rats. Desite the almost unbearable heat, I enjoyed it immensely. The songs were fun, and two of the actors were cute and long-haired. Mmmm, cute and long-haired boys... *drools*
Later in the night I got sick and threw up. Mum thinks it was because of the heat, so the next day she was overly worried about me, always asking if I was feeling sck and if I was getting enough to drink.
Yesterday we were still in Hameln. We bought some souvenirs (including an awesome Pied Piper hat with a feather in it) and took a guided tour through the city with a pretty funny guide.
Then my brotherly unit and I took the train to Berlin where we were going to meet up with Marco, an old school friend of Jared's whom he had got in contact with again through the internet. Yay internet!
Unfortunately we realised far too late that we wouldn't be able to recognise him on the train station, because we hadn't seen him in almost ten years. Yeah, clever us.
Once we got to the train station, everything seemed to be against us. The station was huge and Marco was nowhere to be found. The public phones didn't work. All the shops were closed. We didn't know what to do. After thinking of different plans and despairing for a while, Jared decided to give the public phones one more try. This time it worked. We contacted Marco, he found us and picked us up to get us to his place.
It looks like we'll do some touristy stuff without Marco today. Tomorrow he has time to join us to explore our old home.
