I don't think a long-distance relationship is something that either of us would have preferred, but we are exactly the kind of people we prefer, so we've decided to ignore the technical difficulties. I don't know how things are going to play out. We had a half-joking conversation about what to name our children this morning (Ljótur Ormur, for example, is very much out of the question). What I do know is that at the moment Mika is not only my boyfriend, but also my very best friend.
The past few days have been truly wonderful. It was hard to let go. When I was waiting for my bus after I had dropped Mika off at BSÍ, he suddenly sent me a text message in which he asked if I could see the rainbow. I looked at the sky, which was so beautiful, and suddenly everything was okay. I felt calm and peaceful and grateful for all the wonderful things in God's creation.
It's nice to be loved.
