play game, buy book

If you're a Chuck Palahniuk fan [or have never read him but, like me, loved the movie Fight Club] and want to check out Rant...or if you just relish crashing cars in a virtual setting, go here: http://www.randomhouse.co.uk/rant/

I started wondering if there were other promotional video games out there...I mean, it seems like a great idea. But my lame attempts at google searches yielded crap.

video game book led to rhapsodical rumors about Ender's Game the, er, game. And an educational game about Lord of the Flies.

game publicity novel revealed that far too many people have used the following construction: "the publicity game"

"video game" novel promotion led to two games by a self-published novelist, and maybe they're great, but they took too damn long to load.

viral video game novel yielded a dozen angry articles about why promotional video games don't work.

And here I thought this was going to be a fun, fun post full of linkage to awesome fiction interactivity.
