Writing Meme

It's been so long since I've answered one of these. Mostly because I've just recently got back into writing after a year of writer's block or not really being inspired in general. But I have been collecting writing prompts thinking that I'll write about it but never do. However, I'll have to thank Stray Kids for getting me back into the mood.

A bit about yourself.

Been writing pretty much since I could remember. I was even in my school's newspaper in 5th or 6th grade and published a small snippet of a story I wrote in it. But back then, I couldn't really string together a cohesive story. I mostly wrote a few lines to set the situation or a place and wrote a complete story with just dialogue, kind of like a screenplay format. Over time though, I started to write in complete sentences and began to describe things more.

How long have you been writing?

Since 2000 - 2004? But there were times where I had writer's block that took months or years in between.

How many completed works have you written?

Quite a few. But I've lost some of them through writing site servers crashing (Looking at you, Lunaescence Archives) and one of my USBs breaking. So, to verify the exact amount? I'm not sure.

What inspires your writing?

Basically anything. But usually writing prompts that makes me question the 'what ifs' gets the juices going.

What type of writer are you? A planner, panster or planster?

A planster. There are times where I plan things ahead of time, but rarely use what I wrote.

What was the last thing you googled for your writing?

Googling exposure therapy and the different kinds.

What is your writing schedule like?

I don't have any. I just write when I feel like it.

Where do you get information or ideas from?

The internet.

Time you prefer to write?

I used to prefer writing at night right before bed because I feel stress-free. Now, it's whenever I'm in the mood or when the urge comes.

The most difficult thing about writing sex scenes.

Envisioning it and being embarrassed to write exactly what's happening in your head.

Favorite genres to read.

Drama, Angst, Crime/Mystery, Suspense, Psychological. Sometimes Romance as well, but I don't want it to be the main focus.

What do you do when you're not writing?

Reading and listening to music.

What's your most recent work about?

It's about a life in a mafia and their struggles.

Hand written or typing?

Either or, depending on if I have access to a computer. But nowadays, I use the Notes App on my phone to write. I find typing so much easier, because my fingers are much faster to catch my thoughts than having to write it manually on paper.

What genre you've never written, do you want to try?

Science fiction? But I doubt I'll do it justice.

Do you prefer writing heroes or villains?

Villains in a sense? I mean, I write on the side of villains or people society considers bad, such as bullies, mafias, psychopaths, murderers, etc.... to give readers a different perspective since we usually read stories through the eyes of "good" people.

What is the genre of your current WIP?

Crime/Mystery, Drama, Romance

What was the genre of your first WIP?

Romance, Drama, Angst

Do you write every day?

I used to when I was still in college, but now since I have a job, when I do get time off, all I want to do is listen to music and rest.

What is the hardest part of starting a new project?

Wanting to get to the good parts of the story.
