Changmin lived through many bloody battles, narrowly escaped death a few times, and still managed to protect the King from harm while being wounded himself. But even though he was praised by everyone in the kingdom as the country's most strongest wolf, his tough demeanor would instantly disappear at the presence of the Queen's wolf.
Changmin remembered the day perfectly when he first caught sight of the snowy wolf. He was laying on his stomach with his front paws tucked under his chin while his King sat on the throne to his left. He didn't think that the wolf that would be presented to the Queen, would be so beautiful. He thought that every other wolf beside himself, would be just like the kingdom's scruffy wolf named Yoochun who was always dirty from spending too much time outside in the dirt, and from having the habit of sleeping on the unswept floor of the kitchen. But at the sight of the snowy wolf walking in through the doors of the room, had him speechless.
Even though he considered himself to be bold on the battlefield and around the castle, in the presence of the Queen's wolf, he would always become shy. Every single day after his first meeting with the other wolf, he would keep a certain distance away and just watched. Sometimes, he would find the snowy wolf interacting with Yoochun which made his hackles rise in anger, especially at the thought of the dirty wolf soiling that beautiful white fur. But his jealousy soon became even more possessive when he realized how much fun the other wolf was having just by being in the dirty wolf's presence.
Changmin stopped his low growling of jealousy when the Queen appeared in the garden.
"Jae, come here."
Changmin watched the snowy wolf pad over to the Queen and nudged softly at the hand that reached out to pat at his head. As he watched the interaction, he felt eyes looking at him and Changmin turned to see Yoochun practically smirking. He could see it in the way the other's eyes glinted and how the other's mouth was pulled back to reveal a row of sharp teeth. Changmin was enraged and he lunged forward, forcing Yoochun to let out a surprised yelp. He tackled the other wolf down on the grass as they both rolled around, their jaws snapping dangerously in the air, and their bodies arching around each other as they tried to get a bite at the other's jugular.
"Stop it!" Changmin heard the Queen yell, but he ignored her. He wanted to show Yoochun exactly who he was messing with and that his title of being the strongest wolf in the country wasn't just a label, but the actual truth.
"Changmin!"
Changmin immediately stopped when he heard the King's loud voice. His ears flattened in embarrassment and moved away from Yoochun who stood up from the grass and glared at him.
"I'm disappointed in you. I thought you were more behaved than that," the King said, looming over Changmin with a frown. Changmin whined again and lowered his head. He quickly darted his eyes over to the snowy wolf, wondering what the other's reaction would be towards his immature behavior, only to see the other wolf grooming Yoochun with its tongue as if checking for injuries. A low growl rumbled from his throat at the sight and he yelped when the King snapped at him again.
Changmin followed his King into the castle and forced himself not to look back at the scene between his snowy wolf and the mangy idiot because he knew that if he did, he wouldn't be able to stop himself from pouncing on Yoochun for a second time.

"Come on, Yunho. Changmin's hungry. He didn't mean to do what he did this afternoon. They're wolves after all," the Queen said, empathizing with the brown wolf standing by the doorway to the living room. The King looked over at his most trusted wolf and sighed, beckoning Changmin over,
"Junko, you're too nice to everyone."
The Queen just chuckled and ran her fingers through Changmin's fur when the wolf came to sit at their feet,
"No, I just know what I see and Changmin here is just claiming his territory."
"Territory?" The King wondered staring down at Changmin.
The Queen smirked, "He's taken a liking to my Jae."
"But they're both males?" The King's brow furrowed in confusion.
"Does it matter?" The Queen huffed and turned her attention to Changmin with a smile,
"I think it's really cute how protective Changmin is over my Jae."
At the mention of the other wolf, Changmin heard Jaejoong pad into the living room. He tried not to make any eye contact in fear of seeing rejection in yellow eyes. But he flinched when the wolf came to a stop next to him.
"Look at how cute they are together," the Queen gushed. Changmin heard a whine next to him and he quickly looked up to see Jaejoong looking at him. He expected the other wolf to ignore him or even make a noise indicating that he was mad at him, but now, looking at the other wolf face-to-face, he found that there was no trace of resentment, just curiosity.
Jaejoong made another whine and Changmin made a hesitant move forward, knowing that his King and Queen was watching their interaction. He nudged his nose under Jaejoong's jaw, afraid of what the other wolf might do. But instead of lashing out, the other wolf made another whine and leaned closer to nuzzle his neck.
"Aww, Jae seems to like him back! Aren't they cute, dear?"
The King smiled at the scene, "I'd have to agree that they look great together."
The Queen grinned, "I knew I could count on my intuition."
"Should we leave them alone then?" the King asked. The Queen nodded and they quietly moved out of the room, leaving the two wolves alone.
Changmin noticed that the King and Queen had moved to leave them alone and he couldn't be more happier. He was finally alone with the wolf he had been pining for almost two years now. He turned his attention back to the snowy wolf and whined happily, hoping that the small show of affection wasn't just that, a show. And as if his prayers were answered, Jaejoong whined happily back.
