Apparently bailiffs have had the right since 2004, in the UK, to enter a home by force in order to take collateral in lieu of loan repayments, which was underpublicised so the poor bailiffs may not have knocked down all the doors they could have done

Because women are less likely to kill in the heat of the moment (and are less likely to be physically capable of it), there's more likely to be an element of planning in killing an abusive male to get out of the relationship, so they're more likely to be convicted of first degree murder for it - or at least that was the case 8 years ago when we briefly covered it in Sociology (e.g. woman poisoned her husband who was abusing her and their children - murder; teenager who'd run away from abusive parents and ended up a prostitute with an abusive pimp who she snapped and killed - murder; male gynaecologist who came home and discovered his wife in bed with her lover, stabbed the male and threw his wife out of the window, killing her too - clearly an out of character act in the heat of the moment: community service)... That did upset me a little...

Though women are more likely to be victims of domestic violence and thus to learn helplessness and to believe that self defence is unlikely to work...
