Bag Sleeves

Bag Sleeves are cylinders of cloth or crochet with a small, 2 inch hole at the bottom and a larger hole, 3-4 inches, at the top. You stuff plastic grocery bags in the top and pull one out the bottom when you need it. They aren't as time comsuming as an afghan, and are more interesting to work than another scarf. More sister gifts!

Design adapted from a Loomed Dragon necklace pattern by Shala Kerrigan. Tapestry crochet does best with only 2-3 colors in a given row, since you carry the extra threads inside the stitches. The extra colors at the eyes of the dragon were a bit heavy and made the eyes stick out a bit. It actually looked pretty cool so it's not a bug, it's a feature!

Shadow Elephant - from a jayceepatterns design.

From the ever usefull book Celtic Charted Designs by Co Spinhoven.

Medee from The Sanguine Griffin, which sadly no longer sells the wonderful patterns it once did.
