work schmirk

It's been a long day. I think I really, really dislike things that I am bad at. I almost didn't learn to drive because I couldn't stand being the worst driver on the road.

Poll Honestly, now.

But things were looking up at the end of the 10.5 hour day. And I went to my first day of honors chem, and the kids are so cute. They keep correcting the professor or verifying minutiae and I still just want to ruffle their pompous little heads.

E and I have joined a gym! Part of our commitment to each other to remain young and hot as long as possible. We paid for a year membership all up front, and are calculating how much it costs per time as our attendance increases. Right now, it's still in the hundreds of dollars. But it will decrease rapidly and will make us proud!

Speaking of proud, we (I?) made my mom's meatball recipe yesterday (well, I made the mixture and rolled the balls, and Evan boiled them) and they came out just right. And I measured nothing!

I met with a chem adviser the other day, and she said that it's best to take lots of broad intro classes so you find out what you're interested in. And that's all well and good, but it seems like in most of the world, having a job you're interested in is a myth. You have to find something compatible with your working style. Because I, for instance, love international stuff--but that doesn't mean my job with international students is very interesting. There are only so many times you can laugh about the vast differences of toilets from country to country.

I missed writing. This is good.
