CANADA VS. RUSSIA IN OLYMPIC HOCKEY TONIGHT, WHAT.

Argh, I'm nervous again.  Still rooting for Canada, yes, but this time, there's no expectation at all for a definite win.  They're both powerhouses, after all, so there's really quite a chance of it swinging either way.

I'll be heartbroken if Canada doesn't make it into the finals.  If they do make it but lose, well, that's a killer too.  But if that loss is to AMERICA, AGAIN -  damnit, I'll swear off the Olympics! I'll never watch it again! EVER!

...No, I'm lying.  I love the Olympics too much for that, especially the Winter Games, regardless of any hockey results.  If you really think about it, many of the sports aren't all that "natural" - people are flying down tracks or mountains relatively unprotected at speeds exceeding 80 mph, throwing themselves into the air to spin and flip, just about killing their knees to head down a bumpy track... they're not exactly the everyday actions of running, jumping, swimming, and all of that sort of thing.  But that's what makes winter sports all the more exciting.  Plus, when you ever really get to watch these kind of things?

Anyway. GO CANADA. You can do it this time!

Ah, and in non-hockey related news, Women's Free Skate is tomorrow.  I'm excited - figure skating is the whole reason why I started watching the games in the first place.  I can't wait for Kim Yu-Na's program - she's so talented.

EDIT: CANADA WON. CHEYEEEEAAAAH.

life on hold, olympics
