Waving across the great internet divide

Hi all!

I'm writing this from my new favorite place on earth it's a coffee shop on Hollywood Blvd called Sabor y Cultura and it's a 3 minute walk from my new apartment in the Hollywood Hills. That's right I've moved to the Hills! Please don't expect any Lauren LC Conrad changes from me it's not THOSE Hills! :) I really really love my new neighborhood. I've been sick with that nasty super bug but yesterday I decided I wanted to take photos of the Oscar happs down over at Hollywood and Highland so I decided to walk. That's right I walked! Take that "Nobody Walks in LA" song! I seriously misjudged how sick I had been and nearly died from exhaustion from the walk but by the time I got there it was totally worth it. I wandered around the whole site and took many pictures of Oscar and the tent covered red carpet. I even saw Tim "Make it work" Gunn rehearsing for his red carpet reporting today. I really wanted to run up and throw myself at him shouting that he may be my favorite person on tv but luckily I restrained myself- that and the bomb dogs, beefy security guards and barriers all helped to keep me acting normal and not batshit crazy! Again can I say how happy I am to be over here??? I mean Oscar happs aside I just feel so much happier over the hill. Shit I'm even posting on LJ, I can't remember the last time I felt like writing but location really helps with that and this little coffee shop is perfect! It inspires me and provides the world's best mocha with free internet on the side- you can't get much cooler. The free internet is key you see as in order to afford living in Hollywood in my dream apartment I had to figure out how to support a near 170 increase in rent. The solution- no more landline, no more internet, no more netflix and no more starbucks. Now I do have to buy coffee here at Sabor y Cultura but it's not the same as buying breakfast and lunch at Starbucks like I was doing at work. I was shelling out nearly 200 a month to that bitch Starbucks can you imagine!!! Well so far my cuts have not been an issue. I have no need for the landline as my cell works fine in the new place and having no internet is actually a really good way to get me out of the apartment and being social plus I can't go straight home and stay online all night which was nearly as bad as my cable habit when I had cable. The netflix is a little painful but again I think getting out and writing and being creative will hopefully fill that void and honestly starbucks coffee is crap anyway so who cares:) I can also walk around everywhere here in Hollywood. I made it all the way down to Amoeba yesterday as well and I can get to trendy Vermont and Hillhurst easily as well. I love getting to know the neighborhood on foot (there are fantastic photo ops) and it's exercise. Can I say yet again how happy I am here??????? :) Now I just need to get rid of this cold!! Hope you all are well and I have missed you!!!!

Love and Kisses
Chris
