This sounds awesome. I haven't read any Scalzi before but this is about the third time I've seen him recommended. I clearly need to start listening to my friends. :)

Yeah, Scalzi is awesome. I've enjoyed that entire series, as well as everything else by him that I've read. Another great way to get started with Scalzi is to read his first novel, which is posted online for free. It's a weaker book in some ways, but still really funny.
