I once chased a window salesman out of our house. Literally. And he high-tailed it out of here quickly enough that he left his tape measure behind. We've gotten a lot of use out of that thing... really good quality professional tape measure that I felt absolutely no guilt over keeping. When the company set up the appointment I asked, point blank, whether they were going to try to pull any crap like "it's going to cost you this much, but if you agree to it RIGHT THIS MINUTE then it'll be half the price." I was *specific* and was assured that their salesmen did nothing of the sort.

So, yeah, when he proceeded to do exactly that (after taking up nearly an hour of our time and not taking a hint to leave), I lost my cool and ended up yelling at the guy and chasing him out of the house. Needless to say, we went with another company to replace our windows... one that was no-pressure, had an excellent product and charged half the "low" price of the company with the annoying salesman.

Stupid salesmen.

Then, there are those pushy magazine sellers. One of them came up to me in my yard when I was home alone and scared the crap out of me.

Will you let us know who it was so we won't ever use them?

What a lowlife! Bad enough to lie like that, but to keep it up once you said you didn't talk to him? Scum!

I don't remember the exact name, but it started with 'S'. Spillman? Something like that.

I usually invoke my first amendment rights to hang up on them.

Normally, I do too. The lying was what changed it around.
