JYJ *2010.10.12 - Seoul*

Oct 13, 2010 13:58

Yesterday I saw JYJ live for the second time. (First was Osaka Dome). I must tell it was very different feeling from Osaka Dome. First of all, I was on the floor, had standing ticket (and it was really standing, not only namely). I didn't have idea about the shape of the stage, but even though my ticket was C-1 (not A or B), several times the boys came to dance in front of my nose. (Like 3 meters away...) Everytime they did that, girls around me went crazy, of course. :D Me too, kind of. But lets's start from the beginning.

I had a class at my university in Busan until 3pm, so I took the KTX to Seoul at 4pm. I arrived at Seoul Station 7pm and at Korea University 7:30. I met Calvincakes there, my Finnish friend, and we went to the Sports Hall. It was not easy to find but fortunately there were other fans going there as well, so we weren't lost. We got our tickets and then met a 3rd girl, Iylover as well, who is English teacher here. For a brief time we even met Jing_16 accidentally, who is from Singapore. We bought the goods, they were really cheap and only 2 kind of them was possible to buy: Light stick for 3.000 won and Photobook for 7000 won. (It's less than 10 USD together). Compared to Osaka it was extrememly cheap, I was very happy. Calvincakes and Iylover had 2nd floor tickets and mine was 1st floor, so we had to go in at different places. I was already almost in when the guard told me to get the paper ring on my wrist. I was like WTF I didn't even know there was such a thing. I had to go all the way up again but fortuntely I didn't miss anything. I even had time to go to the toilet first.

The C1 area was kind of small, a few hundred, maximum 1000 people I guess. I had chance to go relatively to the front but not all the way, since the first few rows were too much crowded. It was a similar feeling like to be on a metal concert. :D I saw one blond girl close to me and I just tried to talk to her. It turned out that her name was Tiina and she was from Estonia which I thought was so cool cause I have studied in Estonia for 4 months something 3 years ago, so I can speak a little bit of Estonian. Also, I love Estonian girl band called Vanilla Ninja. I don't even know why they are not more famous, their music rocks and they sing in English.

Then the show started. The intro was very cool, and they played 2 songs in a row after that. I loved both, they were such catchy pieces.

Then there was a talking part. The MC talked with them about general things, the new album and such. And then there was a part where they selected from fans' questions and the boys were supposed to answer it.

I clearly remember this one, cause I thought it was so idiotic. Question was: Why I don't have a boyfriend? Jaejoong asked back if he understood the question well, and then he answered like how he is supposed to know, he don't even know her personality, but audience scanted it's because of you. Jaejoong started to laugh, and said, okay I understand, it's because she loves us this much. In my opinion, this was such a stupid question, I don't even know why it was selected. I didn't think it was funny at all.

Another question was, why Jae cried in the Dome in Japan, and he again was so hesitant to answer. The MC had to ask at least 3 times. He asked: were you sad, happy, grateful? And then Jae answered that actually one of his close friend died not long ago, and he also had too much worry about the future. However, at that moment he just felt sad for no reason. I personally think that Jae is such a tough guy who always keeps up his strong self, it must have been exceptionlly hard for him those days if he couldn't hold back tears.

There was also a question, or rather a request. the boys were supposed to make comparison as what is better than what. There is a TV commercial of a famous brand of coffee in Korea called T.O.P. In the commercial they say that if something is plain coffee then something else is T.O.P (means so much better). I know this brand of coffee, but I've never seen the TV commercial since I don't ever watch TV. Because of that, I didn't even understand the whole thing at first, thanks to Healing_voice for explaining. So the boys were supposed to make comparison like that. Junsu said that if anyone else's fans were coffee then their fans were T.O.P. Naturally audience went crazy. Then it was Jae's turn. This little egoist said to Micky, that "Park Yoochun, if you're coffee, then I am T.O.P" haha it was so cute. If I heard correctly then Micky said "If Jaejoong is coffee, then Kim Jaejoong is T.O.P" Did he maybe mean that if all the Jaejoongs in Korea are plain coffee, then this Kim Jaejoong is special? I guess so, however, if anyone can correct me, please don't hesitate to do so.

Oh and there was another one, the question was, who the biggest name is in Korea now. Micky said he doesn't watch TV so he don't know, and the MC asked again, seriously, who you guys do you think is even bigger than you? And as expected, audience started to chant: THERE'S NO-ONE! :D

Right now I can't remember more questons...

Then they showed pictures about small African children who they wanna support with a part of this concert's income. The pictures were totally cute, they didn't show extreme powerty or skelton-thin people, just smiling little angels, and fans around me also thought it was so cute. I mean everyone knows that there is powerty in the world but when we go to a concert like this, we don't wanna see shocking pictures that would only make us feel bad. These children looked so cheerful and they definitely deserve the chance to have better chances in life.

Then JYJ sang Chajatta in Korean (everyone sang along), and then another 1 or 2 songs from the album. The last one was Ayyy Girl, and for me it was the least catchy but still good. All the other songs were just awesome and the boys' dance was also very hot! This album's style is very different from the previous one's but it's not bad at all, in my opinion, especially in live!! The whole event was fantactic and it was definitely worth going.

When we left the arena I saw many baroquet in the main hall. I asked the Estionan girl whether those were flowers from the fans, but she said that there was rice inside. She explained to me that different fanclubs always used to send flowers to TVXQ when they had a live show, but this time (or from this time on) JYJ especially asked fans to send rice instead of flowers cause they can support charities with that.

I have only one regret. I put down my photobook near the main staircase just as long as we made pictues with another girl, and by the time we finished (not more than 1 minute), it was already gone. It never happened to me in Korea, that something was stolen away from me that I just put down somewhere for a moment, but I guess that some fangirls are just too much of a greedy little devils. I was so sad and upset cause the book was limited and already sold out, there was no possibility to get another one. It's not like I am dying without it, but it was with me all through the show when JYJ was dancing 3 meters away from me, and all. It was a very beautiful book full of wonderful pictues, and more than that, it was a memory. I would rather all my money stolen away from me than that book. :(( It cannot be changed now, but I am still sad about it..... Everyone, be careful of your goods when you are on a concert!

With Iylover we went to the Express Bus Station and had a late dinner together. She took a bus to Daegu while I took one to Busan. I arrived in the morning and I had to go to class at 9 am, so I was a little bit tired. Not too much though, since I could sleep on the bus very well. :)

I cannot wait to hear the new album. At the dinner table, I took a look at Ivlover's book. It had all the lyrics inside as well. I read them and they were rather shallow in my opinion, I even wonderend how it was so funny that one of the lyricist's name was Poet Yusuf, when even I can write such basic and meaningless lyrics.

On the other hand I think that we need to consider that JYJ are only learning English now. They have to concentrate on dancing, vocals, pronouncation, they would be messed up with any more difficult lyrics than this. I guess you can imagine how hard it is to sing in a language you are not confident in. I believe that as their English improves, their lyrics will improve as well. It's not like they will be on this level forever. As for me, my first language is not English, and anyway the music is usually so loud that the lyrics don't bother me even a bit, but I guess that native English speakers can think differently. Anyhow, please don't be too hard on the boys, they are doing their best as always. Right now it's pretty hard for them to work in some Asian countries because of SM and AVEX, but they willingly made a step towards the West without anyone's help (of course they got some help but what I mean is there was no serious marketing plan behind them). We have always been waiting for it to happen, so please dont make very serious critism if just this first try didn't match your taste. Let's be patient! :)

As for recordings, I did 2 short fancams and 2 pictures, only for the sake of memory, however, I didn't do audio recording, since it wouldn't have made much sense. In the aera where I was standing, screaming was constant and not just in the breaks but all through the music. We will get the HQ audio files on CD in a few days anyway. Especially after hearing them live, I can't wait to hear the new album. :D:D:D

(If I get to know any additional info about this showcase, like if later I can remember more questions the boys answered, or some of my korean friends tell me about those that I didn't quite understand, I might edit this post later^^)

It's just a building at Seoul Station but I thought it looked so cool:D
