I didn't even realize the Jewish-name thing. But it's cool. My brother's called Carsten and both our names are North-German. Well, they are from the North. Ah, don't know how to explain it.
ROFL!! oh no, I didn't mean Scandinavians. I meant the north of Germany. bah, let's just leave it, I really don't know how to explain! my English sucks today, I don't know why ^_^
Ah, no-no, it's okay, now I understand^^ I know it's hard to explain when in our mother languages things mean different stuff. For example in Hungarian German would be "német", and if we say "germán", it means the whole german popularity with Scandinavia and Austria and Switzerland and all. So "északi germánok", i.e. North Germanians would be the Scandinavians. That's why I misunderstood, sorry^^3 But actually Hochdeutsch is "felnémet", it's a literal translation (something like upper German), that how we refer to that region:)
Okay, I understood! Good! And "hochdeutsch" is something that I can't speak, I have a very bad Saxonian accent, so that probably no one who learns German would understand me. not good!
Yeah it's weird how many dialects German has. In Hungary there are not so big differences in speech, you can barely recognize where people are from (but of course this country is so much smaller, so it's natural).
