Dad

My little sister, Taylor called me at work today in tears. She said that Dad was in the Emergency Room. My heart stopped.

I cannot imagine life without my father.

On the way to the hospital I recalled our most recent conversations and cried over how mudane they were.

Taylor was waiting for me in the lobby...visably upset. She kept asking who was going to walk us down the aisle if Daddy dies. It broke my heart.

I made my way into the ER and it was there that I learned what had happened. Dad was in the office and began to feel dizzy....his speech became slurred..he had difficulty walking..and was unable to dial the phone. His partner took him to the cardiologist..who then took him to the hospital.
Tests showed that Dad's blood was VERY VERY thin making him a good candidate for a stroke.

Dad is going to undergo additional tests tomorrow and will check his carotid arteries. But after speaking with the cardiologist tonight..I things will work out ok. The doctor believes there was a conflict between a blood thinner Dad is taking..and some pills another doctor had perscribed to relieve cramping in his legs.

Anyway..that's all I know right now. Dad is in the hospital resting comfortably...and if everything goes as we hope, he'll be out of the hospital in a few days.

On a funny note..the cardiologist has recommended Dad take Yoga with me and Taylor to help with the leg cramping. ;)
