It's rare these days that I actually do something enjoyable at work (been there too long, need to move on yadda yadda yadda) but this week I did.
Since I started managing our youtube channel I've been able to go to interesting places and interview interesting people. This week I had the task of going to the graduation screening of the National Film and Television School fiction films at the Southbank to interview some students and staff. I got to sit in the theatre for about 4 hours and watch a load of short films. A load of really amazing short films. Mostly tragic/depressing and somewhat dismal in tone but all rather impressive.
One in particular blew me away and I really hope it goes to lots of festivals and wins awards. If you ever get the chance, go and see
The Confession. It was a beautiful beautiful film that lured me into a false sense of joy and then ripped my heart out. In fact, it made me want to shout 'You Whedon!' when the student crew took a bow after the screening.
Thank you, my somewhat terrible job, for giving me a bit of love every now and again. And hey, I'm off to the BBC next week....
