Konbanwa, minnasan, I hope everyone out there is doing well! It's still very busy for me as we're moving things back and forth between houses. I'm pretty excited though since I've got a master bedroom to start decorating from pretty much scratch. I also will have my own sewing room which is going to have the carpet ripped out in a couple weeks so I can put in tile. (I like doing things like that, I'm a big DIY person! =^^=)
Unfortunately though, I have lost pretty much all my inspiration to write, and it's really bumming me out. I do have another Mirotic!verse 2U piece tickling the back of my brain, so I'm hoping that will kickstart my Fanfic muse again! That or I'm going to have to give it all in NaNoWriMo if I decide to compete again.
In the mean time, I thought that I would post another small makeup tutorial. This one is geared more toward and All Hallow's Eve/Halloween look and deals with how to apply eye makeup to accent unusual or brightly colored contact lenses. So, I hope everyone enjoys and ja ne for now! =~.^=V
As you can see in the image, I'm wearing a set of glow-in-the-dark/black light neon pink circle lenses. I wanted to draw as much attention to the depth/shape of the pink lenses as I did the vibrant color. (And random, that is my new haircut in the pic. =^^=)
First step was once again to apply an eyeshadow primer. After letting it dry, I went ahead and chose a chalk glitter white base. With a flat, short fan brush, I swept the shadow over my whole lid, into my inner crease and then drew it upwards until it reached the bottom of my eyebrows. This created a very dramatic shimmer that played off the color. Taking the flat brush once again, I added more of the white base to my lid, pulling more color toward the corners of my eyes. I then used the brush to take a little of the shadow and dab it past the inner part of my eye and just a little down past my tearduct in a slope. This widens the eyes. Taking that same shadow, I barely trapped it underneath my whole bottom lash.
The next step is to create an illusion of depth. Choosing a color that actually matches your colored lense is a very helpful trick. I took a very vibrant pink shadow that I own and with a sponge brush, swept a mid sized line at my inner crease and blended it upwards toward my browbone. I then took the color and accented the sides of my lids, going in about 1/3 of the way. I recommend doing very little blending with this portion of your shadow or you will lose the play of color off your lense.
I chose black liquid pot eyeliner to really bring out the black in my pupils. Any color will be suitable for this portion and playing around with different liquid liners will create some very interesting looks. Unlike my normal "light" Ulzzang/Hime styled eyes, I actually really thickened the line so that the black was visible. Once again, I drew the lines just past the edge my eye and did small wingtips. This time however, I also drug the black liner down to create almost a minature triangle. This once again give the effect of the large, wide eyes. It also creates the illusion that my pink lenses are almost glowing without any trick lighting.
Finally, I added two layers of lengthening mascara. I normally curl my eyelashes but I didn't want to draw attention away from my lenses. So in this case, I left them straight and only added a minimum bit of black to my bottom lashes.
I hope that this was a fun little tutorial. Please feel free to experiment with different colors, especially if you have very dramatic lenses! It's fun to see what style you can come up with!
