Just a Little Random Mini Makeup Semi-Tutorial...

Konnichiwa, minnasan, I hope everyone in Cyberland is doing well! =^^= Thank you to everyone for the wonderful feedback on the latest chapter of "Second Sight." I will be getting to responding to those comments in a couple days but I appreciate all the kind words!

In the mean time, I've recently been asked by people about how I do my eye makeup. Since I've been heavily inspired by Ulzzang and Hime eyes, I tend to bend toward that direction. I really don't have a tutorial for it, so I'm going to post a pic and then explain how I ended up with that look. So here we go!

So this is the final product of my usual makeup routine. All products used here are Hard Candy with the exception of my pot liquid liner, which is Maybelline. I truly don't use any base or foundation on my skin. (I like my smattering of freckles and have bad reactions to most bases/foundations.) I use a light bronzer to conceal any red areas as well as some potential darkness under the eyes.

For my eyes, I use a a primer. My full lid is covered in a white/silver pigment. I use a small, round brush to apply, making sure it is heavier toward the corners. I then like to use just a little of the same color on my brow bone because I have some pretty big eyes naturally. Next, I actually use a little bit of pink and shade it into the corners of my outer lids and into the crease line. I have a natural olive tone to my skin and this actually sets off the bronzer nicely. I use a sponge applicator for the pink because I like a very obvious line. My black eyeliner is a liquid pot variation. I like smaller wing tips so when I apply it, I only go a slight distance from the outer corners of my eyes. I then connect it to the bottom portion of my eye, about a 1/4 in to give it a very full look.

For my eyelashes, I use a curling mascara. I apply one solid coat on each set of upper lashes and then use an eyelash curler. While still keeping the curler on the lashes, I apply even more mascara. This gives the wide eyed "Dolly" look. I apply a small layer on my bottom lashes then to create an even bigger effect.

I wear circle lenses and yesterday I had my Slate Grey set in. (My eyes are normally dark brown.) Against the black lines of the makeup, I think they really look round and pretty.

On my cheeks I use a very light blush with just an upward sweep with a large brush. I have very high cheek bones so I tend to go at an angle instead of an apple shape.

Finally, I like sheer or only lightly tinted lip glosses or stains. This particular one I'm wearing has just a hint of pink in it.

So I hope this very mini tutorial helps for those of you who are interested in Ulzzang or Hime inspired makeup styles. If you have any questions or would like to request a more thorough makeup tutorial, please let me know and I'll try to do one in the future!

Ja ne for now, minnasan! =~.^=V
