BHAFAS, Manga Club, Genki no Cosplay and a Slew of Other Stuff! (Phew!)

Konbanwa, minnasan, I hope everyone out there in Cyberland is doing well. It's been a REALLY busy week for me at work. The main Price Coordinator is currently on vacation for her daughter's graduation. When she's gone, I take over her job. Add to the fact that I've also had to two days of book keeping on the same days as price coordinating and you've got one tired little Miracle. =^^=;; In least the "worst" part of it is now done and all I have to do is wade through Friday.

Speaking of Friday, we've got our monthly BHAFAS (Black Hills Asian Fashion Appreciation Society) meeting at Borders at 5 p.m. for anyone in the Black Hills region who'd like to attend! This month's theme is "cosplay" since it's a pretty easy one for everyone to accomplish. I'm going relatively low key since I have to travel over an hour to get to the meeting. I ended up opting for cosplaying as Koike Teppei's version of "Keita" from the live-action "Gokusen 2." I made a gakuren jacket (school boy's uniform) a few years back. I'll be without the four gold buttons because I had to remove them for another costume. But, I highly doubt anyone is going to really know who I am any ways! XD

After BHAFAS, there will be the "reincarnation" of the Manga Club at Waldenbooks in the Rushmore Mall at 6:30 p.m. Bunny was specially requested to restart the club in hopes of jump starting manga sales. Each month we'll be covering a specific series, so please come and join us!

Cosplays have been greatly reduced this year. Because of the complexity of Bunny and my's competition outfits, (we're entering Master Class this year), we got rid of our Takarazuka outfits and I edited out my Takki from Tackey and Tsubasa. So, the rundown for the two conventions we're attending this year should be as follows.

SOGEN CON: August in Sioux Falls, SD

Friday Night: I'm planning on wearing Hamster PJs if I can get them off Ebay and then do GAL/Manba inspired makeup. If I can't, I'll probably just Steampunk it.

Saturday: One of my Gothic Lolita outfits or one of my many kimonos.

Saturday night: Competition pieces.

Sunday: Probably just an anime t-shirt and my capris. This is a really low-key convention for Bunny and I.

NAN DESU KAN: September in Denver, CO

Friday Night: Kamenashi Kazuya in "clown outfit" from "Dream Boys 2007" musical. (Since I have my Flower Boys panel that night too.)

Saturday: Kimono or Hamster PJs

Saturday Night: Competition pieces.

Saturday Night Rave: Hamster PJs or my Jrock Dragon kimono.

Sunday: Steampunk Air Pirate (French WWI inspired.)

Also, on a more random note, Genki no Cosplay will be celebrating our five year anniversary of being together as an official cosplay troupe this year! This is quite an accomplishment as most troupes last three years at the max. We're pretty proud of ourselves!

I did see "Star Trek" on opening night and I must say it was an amazing film! I really enjoyed the "ode" to the original series as well as the cameo by one famous Star Trek actor. I'd like to see it again in the future.

Thank you to everyone who's enjoyed the Prologue to "Like Blood to Water!" I have ALOT of ideas for this fic, but since I've been so busy I haven't been able to start on the next chapter. I'm pretty excited to really get going with this though! I hope it will be as good a read as "Impasse/AAO"!verse was!

I think that's everything for now, minnasan. I hope you're all doing well and thank you again for all your support and love, it's appreciated so much! Ja ne for now! =~.^=V
