[Paula was slowly stirring a bowl of batter when Ness came in. Her actions were sluggish and she was staring across the room at nothing in particular.]

I'm making--
[What was she making? She couldn't remember. She had simply picked a recipe at random and starting throwing things in the bowl. The last few minutes had been all mechanical action and no thoughts.
She peered down at the bowl's contents.]
... peanut butter cookies. Any and all help would be appreciated.
[Okay now she was really starting to get him a bit worried. He nodded though, eager to lend a helping hand.]
Ok!
[And then he sort of looked at the bowl, and kind of looked at all the things on the counter, and sort of turned around to stare at the stove, and then turned completely back around to give her a really sheepish look.]
Yeah, I can do that! [COULD YOU, NESS. TURNING A KNOB WAS A LOT OF WORK.] Is it, uh, 350? I think that's what it is when Mom makes 'em... [Making cookies is the same for every cookie right? RIGHT? THAT'S HOW COOKING WORKS RIGHT... Ness get out fo the kitchen.]
Well I am pretty confident in my taste-testing skills.
[Awww yeah he's gonna help scoop out these dough balls like a complete amateur just check out those balls. They are both too big and too small. YEAAH.]
[Those were some balls of varying size. But it was alright. The different sized cookies would simply be unique little snowflakes. In an endearing sort of way.]
I'm glad I can trust in you. I'll leave that part up to you.
[Once the cookies were scooped out, it was time to put them in the oven.]
Would you like to lick the bowl before I clean it?
Knock, knock.

Hm?
[She finally noticed the boy.]
Ness! What are you doing here?
Reply
He smiled her when she finally looked his way, inviting himself into the kitchen.]
A little birdy told me someone was up to something in the kitchen. Seems like they were right!
Reply
No, no. It would do no good to tear up now. Especially since Ness was here.
She forced a smile.]
I just felt like baking. I've been neglecting my practice, especially since the culinary arts teacher left.

He's gonna try and peek in her bowl.]

... What do you need help with?

Do you mind turning on the oven? It needs to preheat a little before we put the dough in.

[He's turning that knob. Oh man.]

[Paula took out some baking sheets and parchment paper.]
Since I already made the dough, all we need to do is wait for the oven to reach the correct temperature.

[But hey look he found a spoon. For dough balls. Awww yeah.]

It's alright. You can always be the taste-tester. That's an important job too.
[Time to start scooping balls of dough onto the sheets aw yeah.]
