41 ~ Goodbyes and hellos

Feb 04, 2011 16:17

So much has happened lately. A lot of people have left and a bunch of new people have arrived. It's both sad and happy at the same time. But I'm sure that those who have left will not be forgotten. Considering all the interesting people who come here, it'd be hard to forget! And anyone who's new will definitely be welcomed into the community. For ( Read more... )

... You can bake?

[I swear Waddle Dee is just curious and not hoping to mooch off of food.

... Okay maybe he wants food a little but ONLY IF SHE OFFERS SOB.]

More or less. I'm still somewhat of a beginner, but that's why I'm taking the cooking class. Though I guess I'm better at baking than cooking things like meat or vegetables, if only because that's what I practice more.

If you'd like to see for yourself, I try to spend a few hours during the weekend in the test kitchen. Feel free to stop by. I usually have tons of left overs.

[HELLO OPPORTUNITY TIME. Should Waddle Dee do this, uhm. He is a little hesitant for a moment, but it's a little hard for him to resist free food or free... anything.]

Um, okay. Lots of leftovers? Do you make stuff like... cookies? Cakes? Cheesecakes? Onigiri? [HE'S HOPING FOR THAT LAST ONE.] I like those.

[Chances are, if she lets him show up, he'll show up with something for her to be nice. Maybe a flower or something. Girls like flowers, right? Not that he was aiming for anything beyond platonic friendliness.]

I've tried a few types of cookies and cakes. I haven't tried cheesecake, but I should! I'm sure it would be a great challenge. Ooooh, maybe I could add a raspberry compote to it! Or maybe some strawberry syrup! That sounds like a good idea.

[She had to look up onigiri.]

I've never tried onigiri. I don't know much about Asian cuisine, other than one of my friends eats it. Looking at recipes online, it doesn't seem too hard. I could probably attempt it.

[Flowers are always welcome.]

Really? I think the raspberry sounds better, but... I think it'd all be good. Really, it would. [Unnngh this makes Waddle Dee seriously hunger.]

So um, if you try to make onigiri... uh, there's all kinds you can make with other fillings. It's really good.

Then I'll take raspberry into consideration~

Yeah, most of these recipes say either fish or vegetables. I think the most difficult part would be forming the rice and making sure it's sticky enough. Are there any fillings you would suggest in particular?

[fdjfhdshkf this girl is making him very happy /)*A*(\]

I like it filled with pickled plums. Those taste really good. It's not fish or vegetables either. [He wonders how hard pickled plums are to find, though...]

Pickled plums? I don't really know where to find those.

Oh! But Poo might know! He's my friend who eats asian food. I'll ask him. Thanks for the suggestions!

[W-Who would name their child after fecal matter...]

Oh, um... [No, no comments on his name, that'd be rude. :|] Okay, that's a good idea. I hope he can help and stuff.

But you're welcome. Uh, if you need more, feel free to let me know.
