There have been a number of writing memes I've read recently; I guess they inspired the following. That and having posted my first story told from Sean Bean's POV. It's always been my goal to write at least one story from the POV of each member of the Fellowship. So here's what I've done so far:

*In fact, this story has nine different points of view: all of the Fellowship, minus Sean Astin, plus an original character, Henry Mortensen's son. But I've always thought of it as John's story, and so I shall memory it.
Well, that was fun. I see I need to write a story from John Rhys-Davies' POV, so that's next on the to-do list.
ETA 11 September, 2005: In fact, I have indeed written
that JRD story.
And now, ORC:
As I've written elsewhere, I'm going not to see hobbits (although that will be a treat), but to meet other LJers, people whose stories and LJs have made a difference to me in the last couple of years. I've been studying the schedules, and really, there are only a few things I want to do. So here's my tentative schedule:
Thursday: if all goes well and the Grapevine doesn't freeze over, we should arrive around 5pm. So I'll have time to rest before pre-registering at 9pm. That's when I hope to meet people, and maybe have a drink or two in the Sheraton's bar.
Friday: It looks as though Friday morning is the time to visit the Huntington Library. Dom speaks, or juggles, or does something, at 2:30. I'm hesitant about this kind of thing; I honestly don't understand the psychodynamics of these transactions. But I thought I'd stick my head in, perhaps loiter at the rear of the main theatre.
Friday night, 9pm: the party with WWS. This is what I'm really looking forward to.
princessofg, save a dance for me, 'kay?
Saturday: At 9am, I plan to meet
princessofg for breakfast with some other good folk, including the brilliant
strangerian, whom I didn't even realize was coming.
Saturday afternoon, Billy talks at 1:40, Sean and Elijah at 2:20. Same as for Dom -- I'll be loitering at the rear of the main theatre.
thejennabides and I plan to meet either before Billy's talk or after Sean and Elijah's.
And that's it! The rest of the time I'm free. We leave Sunday morning.
How to recognize me: I'm a nondescript, middle-aged white woman with glasses and greying brown hair pulled back into a bun. I look like an English teacher. I'll be wearing a blue blazer with a cameo brooch on the lapel. Also, I'm a little hard of hearing, so if it's at all noisy, please bellow in my direction.
See you there?
