so, i got shiny things for christmas. Nora gots me We<3Katamari and the Muppet Christmas Carol. Mom gave me new chucks (navy blue hi-tops!), a ring (spiffy), some gift cards, and a sweater. My dad gave me a new laptop (god bless him!). So this entry is coming to you from the new laptop, who is, as of this moment, unnamed. I shall think of one over the next week or so, I'm sure, as his personality begins to emerge. He's a good laptop thus far, with many shiny features. His one fault (though it's not really his - it's his maker's), is that he is infected by that horrid disease known as Windows Vista. Ah well, together we shall overcome.
I went on a small shopping spree this afternoon. I bought the new Office 2007 Home & Student (for a mere $149.99 at OfficeMax, as opposed to the absurd cost of $239.99 at BestBuy), which I will install shortly. I also bought some DVD's on sale at Target (god, how I love sales at Target) -- Bones Season 3 (19.99 instead of 45.99), Stargate: SG-1 Season 10 ($17.00 instead of $35.99), and Hellboy (9.00! Yay!). These things make me happy.
I bought a new laptop bag. It's not because I don't love my old laptop bag, it's just... the new laptop has a whopping 17" screen, whereas Methos (my old laptop) only had a 15.4" screen -- and he barely fit into my old bag. The laptop bag cost me like $80.00, which I find ridiculous. But apparently carrying cases for laptops are just that expensive now. Suck.
Hm... What else has been going on lately? I was told I needed to update more (see Uncle James? I listen!), but my life is just so boring these days...
Nora and I threw our annual Yule shindig last sunday at my place. It was a pretty decent party. We had more people show up this year than we've had come in quite a while. The alcohol flowed, and people snacked and laughed. It was good. Rob actually managed to make it out (and we were very proud of him). I gave him a sword for Christmas, and he wouldn't let go of it (it was actually quite perverse at times).
Ah! The other good news is that the Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog DVD's came in yesterday. I gave one to David (of course), one is for me, and the other is for Nora (cause she's been a good girl this year!). It is an awesome DVD, and very much worth the $9.99 each I paid for them.
Oh, we played pool last night. It was pretty damn fun, even though the bitches at the table next to us were, well, bitches. We also found a bra in the parking lot by my car door. I picked it up and brought it in to David. One of his waitresses was having a bit of a breakdown at the moment, so he put the bra on over his vest to make her smile. I took a picture for later blackmail purposes. Mwahaha. Then we went home and watched the Doctor Who Christmas special. It was cool. It wasn't like "OMG! THAT WAS AMAZING", but it was pretty entertaining. David Morrisey did a wonderful job. However, I still kept seeing him and David Tennant standing waist-deep in a pool shoving each other under the water to the Clash's "Should I Stay or Should I Go". It was a bit distracting.
The other thing that made me giggle today is that Gmail has like these themes you can set. One of them is Cherry Blossom. As Nora said, and I quite agree, Cherry Blossom stuff is the only time I like pink. =)
Alrighty. That's all I've got for now. Cheers!
