*SPOILER warning for those of you haven't seen the movie yet...*

I thought it was okay, but the directors didn't manage the movie time well at all, I thought. Some of the frivolous scenes, like Jack's adventure in Davy Jones' Locker, crowded the more important dialogue scenes. The directors should have compressed these less important scenes to make more room for scenes integral to the plot, I think. For example, I had to read on Wikipedia that the Kraken was killed between the two sequels because I missed the short explanatory scene in the proper movie. I was also disappointed that Norrington's presence in the movie was undermatched to his significance in the movie's plot. I mean, this is the same character who caused the entire plot of the movie in the movie's predecessor and now suddenly he's marginalized as a minor role and killed off early. What a disservice they performed to that character. Perhaps, then, if Jack's experience in the Locker had been reduced to five minutes instead of ten, and Sao Feng had been removed from the plot entirely (they had enough characters as it was), the Kraken or Norrington could have been more than a mere afterthought.

My favorite part was Barbossa's address to Elizabeth in the assembly scene when she leaves the Black Pearl.

"*Misses* Swann..."

I could've sworn that Dr. Yankow had spoken those lines--sounded just like him.

*Another SPOILER warning...*

None of that is to mention either that Elizabeth's father's fatal desire for immortality was just uncharacteristic of him. Plus Barbossa didn't eat a single apple in the film, another uncharacteristic behavior.

Err, did he say "Mrs. Swann" or "Mrs. Turner?" It must've been Turner...
