Ok, so maybe not Fl life, per se, but vacation life in FL...how bout that?
I haven't worked in days, and it's a paid vacation, and I'm loving it. I'm about ready to go back to work, cause I'm starting to get a bit bored, but this was much needed.
So a few things I've figured out about FL:
1. People DON'T know how to drive.
2. It rains every afternoon between 3-5.
3. Salt water is definitely different from fresh water...just ask my hair...oy!4. Old people may be frustrating drivers, but damnit, they are so fucking cute around here when they're not behind the wheel!
5. TomTom is my new best friend.
And then there's Frank.....
Everyone remember Ceshie's cat, Frank? Well, Jimmy has a cat that just reminds me a LOT of Frank...and I keep accidentally calling him Frank. So now I think I have everyone calling him that, and now the name "kitty" is in the books as history. Frank is an asshole to me, but that's cause I'm allergic to him. And he's jealous of the dog. But he's still so fucking cute!
And last, but definitely not least, there's Jimmy. I keep having crazy things run thru my mind. I find it completely comforting and amazing how some things about people will never change. Perfect example: EVERDAY Jimmy fixes something on a motor. For as long as I've known him, he ALWAYS has to tinker w/something. And everyday I've been here, he's worked on a vehicle or the boat. It makes me smile.
Now, don't get me wrong, I love all of my friends in MI. But there's something comforting about having a conversation w/someone and being able to relate cause you've both been there. Little things about the Youngstown area....he said something about the area the other nite, and I knew what he was talking about. I don't get that up north. It's just wierd, but comforting....I can't explain it, to be perfectly honest.
Either way...it's all in motion now...most of my stuff is down here, and then I head back to Petoskey for 2 weeks, Oct. 1 Jimmy flies to MI, and then Oct. 3 we leave for the cross country treck to the new humble abode.
Which, I might add, is amazing! He did a good job finding a house. It's on a salt water canal, and the wildlife is phenomenal to watch. The house is big and open, and comfy. I really think I'm gonna like it here.....
