I probably should update more often or share more things, but I am pretty lazy and easily distracted by shiny games, books, movies, and life in general. Speaking of shiny, Marc and I moved into our new house this weekend! I will post pictures eventually. We have plenty of work to do, but most of it is work we simply want to do. The house is in really good condition, though I'm dying to get rid of what's left of the cigarette smoke smell. You can tell the smoking was limited to the lower levels of the house and they must of stopped when they knew they wanted to sell (and cleaned the hell out of the carpets), so the smell isn't too bad, but it still bugs me. I guess I just need to give it time.
We had the big moving party on Friday and got it all in and pretty well situated. I stayed fairly buzzed, but not drunk, just enough to keep me unstressed. The cats are finally settling in. Rexxar LOVES the house. He seems to be less timid and more comfortable than I have ever seen him. I guess he wasn't meant to be an apartment cat. Grom is intimidated but slowly warming up. He's hiding a little less than he was. Is it sad though that one of the most exciting things for me is being able to do my own laundry in my own house. Yes, I know....weird. But, I just like having all this space. Right now I'm lounging on the couch in my living room on the laptop with all the lights off. That may not be so different than what I would do at the apartment, but the air is cleaner, the neighbors are nicer and the space is much much bigger and better.
Speaking of neighbors...the fat old guy 2 houses up the street welcomed us to the neighborhood (and gave us a happy 4th of july notice) by setting off black cats and mooning us. OH I'm already happier here :) People may not understand why we find those types of neighbors fun, but they are :)
Anyway, back to "Dead Like Me" and soon sleep :)
Cheers and good night from the Rau house in St. Charles
OH! Marc's brother Michael proposed to his girlfriend Lacie and they said yes! Yeah!!!! So happy for them. :)
