So I definitely just got one of the best phone calls of my life! Dr. Mancini, Department Chair of the American Studies Department at SLU just called to tell me I have been accepted to the PhD program at SLU! And that's not all, they're giving me an assistantship!!! :D Lots of jumping up and down has been going on. I think I scared the cat. Also, he's nominating me for the Presidential Fellowship. Now, the chances of me getting that are slim since it's highly competitive and it usually goes to people in the sciences and engineering...not humanities. However, I'm still happy and honored that they would nominate me, and I'm really excited.
