I am back in England again.
I have to say I have never experienced ineptitude such as I have while being in the UK. Ruth and I have a new phrase 'Incompetence happens' and it sure does here.
They aren't prepared that one day the temperature might actually go over 20 degrees so when it does the whole country goes into meltdown. Nothing is air conditioned, not even ventilated properly. Oh so many people are crap at their jobs it is amazing. In my travels around both Australia and New Zealand, and I have to be honest here, even India, there wasn't such incompetence. Like, dude, I'm not asking you to perform surgery on my brain, just drive this bus from here to there. Argh.
I did however like Edinburgh a lot and would definitely recommend going there. It is very beautiful, and the shopping is excellent.
Anyway we thought we were leaving for the USA tomorrow morning, not Saturday, which means we hadn't book accommodation for tonight, so we rang around in a mad panic last night and managed to get a room at Ashlee House in Kings Cross. And then tomorrow night at the Globetrotter, and then Florida on Saturday. We really don't want to come back here, it would be nice to go home via LA and Auckland, the £ doesn't buy any more than a $ would but costs more, if that makes sense. Plus I'm so fed up of continually unpacking and re packing. Argh! I have a terrible fear that my luggage is going to be very overweight. Don't know what to do about this. Will have to see how I go leaving Heathrow.
I could live here, only if I had a lot of money to burn. I couldn't be a backpacker type on a permanent basis here. I'm going crazy for hygiene and cross infections and such things.
Still no sign of Michael Vaughan. Going to spend all day in a pub watching the cricket tomorrow. Good times, Harry.
Have you seen this man?
