This was a good night.

Due to me NOT being paid this weekend as I hoped I would, I was in despair as I missed out on Fimbulvetr last night, and was gearing down for a long boring weekend at home.

Thankfully, the lovely ishkhara (whom I had no idea had my mobile number!), invited me out to see 'The Grudge 2' in the cinema - so huge Dr.Evil style hugs'n'stuff to her for assisting me in financing the night's entertainment and drinky-poos! :oD Of course, it was also great to see the rest of the not-got-a-scooby gang, too!

The Grudge 2. What a scream. And totally not in a scary way, I'm afraid to say. What it deliver, and in a totally unintentional way, was piss-yourself-laughing hilarious scenes. I think that, what with us all being hardened horror movie afociandos, we might've posibly spoiled the movie for some of the other cinema-goers with our childish giggling throughout the movie. But no apologies, we enjoyed it! Of particular note in the movie was the completely random scene (which I got excited about - as it could've potentially turned into a lactose-fueled teen lesbian cheerleader romp, but alas...) where a girl is drinking milk and hilariously vomits it back into the bottle. Pure comedy gold, partly because it was completely meant to be scary and serious. The constantly windy ghost thingy, the even windier school headteacher/shrink, and the little blue 'MEEEEEEEOOOOOW' boy were also consistantly amusing throughout the movie!

After the movie, we went to have a few drinkies and food (which I thankfully managed to buy myself!), and got ready for our second movie of the night, 'Red Road'. To put it mildly, it was grim. It's basically about a CCTV operator who bags off with an recently released convict to try and wreak vengeance on him for the accidental death of her husband and daughter. The storytelling was particularly good, because the plot slowly unfolded as the movie progressed, leaving you to fill in the gaps as it went along, wondering what was driving the main character to do the awful things that she does. It was a strange movie, and I'm not particularly sure if I enjoyed it or not, but it was very well made and impeccably acted - even though it could've done with being half an hour shorter.

So that was that. Thanks again to everyone for a very amusing night!

Other great parts of the evening:

- nuclearchicken's hugely entertaining spiderman cum web blasting wrist action. (my, what an action figure that would make!)
- Tangfastics. Turbocharged sugar rushes courtesy of Haribo loveliness
- Swearing. It's not big or clever, but it's always fun
- Seeing a hugely drunken tart of a witchy-poo fall down the stairs on the bus home. (she was ok, though!)
- Almost losing my keys. Ok, that wasn't fun, but the joyous feeling I had when I gone back into the cinema and found 'em was SUCH a relief!
