What a night.
...What a FUCKING night!!
The gig went pretty well, despite the fact that we all made rather horrendous mistakes at several points throughout it! But, as
bluesound said (or was it
nuclearchicken??), the mark of a good band is one that can recover from mistakes when playing live. And recover we did. For only our second gig, we once again got a fairly decent response from the audience - and I think we once again outshone the 'headlining' band - a fairly beefy accolade, methinks!
There was a few bizarre moments of the night, as always. The first of which was a rather amusing technicolour hippy who was having lots of fun prancing about the dancefloor to our songs. Or, in fact, any song that remotely had a rhythm. He was highly amusing and completely harmless, too. The second bizarre thing was the bizarre moment right after our performance, when this drop-dead-gorgeous american girl strolls up to me and asked me for a dance. ('fuck' I thought - a real groupie!) ...But I had to get the bass guitar off the stage and packed away, so I said to her that I'd be back in a minute. After I'd done that (via a wee trip to the loo), I come out and she was fucking GONE! Gutted! Ah well, nothing gained, nothing lost - it just exemplified how life seems to enjoy shitting on me from a great height sometimes. Right. The third, and most confusing event of the night is when the apparent new would-be-could-be girlfriend I had aquired (who recently told me that she wanted to just be a friend), calls me up and invites me to a boozy night with her and her friend, saying that she really likes me?! Argh! I had to decline, as it was 02:30 in the morning, and despite the fact that I was driving, had probably drank a wee bit more than I really should've - and didn't want to risk driving all the way to Livingston, should the fuzz decide to pull me over and breathalyse me.
But hey, I ferried everyone else home safe and sound, and am sitting her typing this now - so all ends well!
Looking forward to helping
julesbabe2310 celebrate her birthday tomoz night, as we go to have some lovely tea at Chai before going to the rather yummy Bonsai restaurant for some excellent food and to get merry on Sake!
But, alas, I must retreat to bed or else I'll be shuffling around edinburgh like a mindless zombie tomorrow. Which I'll probably do anyways. Just for fun.
Girls. Meh.
