Elle & Lui - On The First Day Of...shalala

The day before yesterday I went downtown to record some footage for my Hannukah-Matisyahu video. Met a bunch of policemen at Nyugati tér, and it was fairly amusing to discover those double-crosses every time we bumped into a menorah. A guy asked me for more information about the lighting and the chag in general, because I was carrying a camera!

Then S. and me had a drink at Fresco's, a recently re-opened restaurant on Liszt Ferenc tér [you'll be transported to the best portal concerning Hungarian cafés when clicking on it!]. I wasn't happy with it's predecessor, Leroy Café, but Fresco is gorgeous - the interior is so really well-done, with the huge chandeliers, and spot-lights in the wall. It kind of resembles the next-door Karma with a British lounge flair. Despite of the architectural beauty the drinks were not that good. Ananas Colada with water in it? Nah, please.

Later on we went back to Uránia, were we parked the car, but did not yet leave, by far not. We watched Howl's Moving Castle, which is a real masterpiece, not only animation-wise. It has it's flaws, but the real strong point is the complexity of the story the film tells. I know, that it is an adaptation of a book, or at least it's based upon it, but hey, would you consider adapting it to a feature-length animation? But of course not. And there's a big joke in it: the blonde Howl is the young David Bowie ~ it's lovely. But. The Hungarian version is awful: the dialogues are similar to that of Barátok közt [soap opera on a Hungarian comm. TV channel], and the voice actors do not do their best. Sofi's voice has 2 actresses, an old and a young one. Look at both, the Japanese and the English versions: top actors and actresses do the voice acting [like, Lauren Bacall as Sariman or Kato Haruko in the same role.]

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention my (not-so)recent findings: the tartan corset from H&M Divided and the matching antique white top with beads and crystals from Zara TRF '05 T-Shirt Collection. And the removable collars crocheted by my grandma. I'll have to post pictures ~ *has an evil plan to ask prezzey, when she completely recovers for photos*
