Geek-out Moment of the Day
Some of you might have heard me talk at some point about reading the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series. I just finished reading the second book in the series, The Sea of Monsters, and will start the third one tomorrow, The Titan's Curse.
So let me try to explain my geek-out moment without ruining what is happening in the books, because they really are worth reading. Towards the end, there's a big fight going on in Miami. The centaurs are involved, and they're going crazy with their mad archery skills. Out of nowhere, one of them shoots off a trick arrow--one with a boxing glove on the end of it.
I must have read this about three times this morning before I fully comprehended what I just read. Did I just find an obscure comic book reference in the middle of this book? Yes, I believe I did.
Once upon a time in Green Arrow comics, Oliver Queen used to actually carry around a gimmick arrow with a boxing glove on the end. Apparently, the centaurs are friends with Oliver Queen.
