Eventful Day at School
I got to break up a fight today between two students. And when I say fight, I mean fists flying and bodies being thrown around the hall. I had to get in between these two girls who were fighting and send the one girl off to class. The girl who was actually throwing the punches was being restrained (or at least her friend was trying to restrain her) was wrestled to the floor but continued to attempt to pick up the fight with the girl again. I ended up physically taking her to the office for the principal to deal with.
After I was able to catch my breath, I noticed two male teachers standing around watching. It pissed me off, because they didn't do anything to try to stop the fight but instead chose to watch and maybe have a laugh about the whole thing.
And then right after that happened, a student brought their planner up to the teacher to have her sign it for a restroom pass, and the teacher noticed that the student had all kinds of writing on his planner. She looked at what he was writing and found that he had made very obvious threats directed at students and teachers at the school. She took it immediately to the principal, and my understanding is that he could be suspended for up to 10 days as well as having an expulsion hearing.
For once, I was relieved when the school day was over. Those two events happened one right after the other and it took a lot out of me emotionally.
