Ragnarok Online

Since I'm becoming obessessed with this game (again), I figured I'd write up a quick tutorial on the game with basic information for anyone who was interested in playing it, so they won't be completely confused when they start. I'm not good at explaining things, so if something sounds confusing, tell me.

Basic Interface

1. Type the names of characters you want to whisper to here.
2. Use this box to chat with others and use emoticons.
3. Hotkeys. Hit F12 to bring this up and open your skills and/or inventory. Drag the picture of the item/skill to those boxes and use the F1 to F9 keys to use the items/skills.
4. The map. It'll be your best friend when traveling.
5. When you are given buffs (ex. Increase Agi), boxes representing them appear here.

Emoticons

Type emoticons in the chat box to use them. Basic emoticons include:

/heh

/gg

/ok

/bo

/gawi

/swt

Hit Alt+L in game to see the rest.

Towns

Prontera: Main town, starting place for acolytes.
Izlude: Starting town for swordsman.
Geffen: Starting town for mages.
Payon: Starting town for archers.
Alberta: Starting town for merchants.
Morroc: Starting town for thieves.

These are the main towns, all with easy monsters surrounding them for leveling. If anyone starts playing and wants help, I suggest starting in Izlude since it's right next to Prontera and I can easily have my acolyte warp there.

Class Notes

-One of the best starting classes is swordsman. They're easy to level and can help you earn money for your other characters.
-When making your character, keep in mind what kind of build and class you want so you don't mess up your stats.
-Try GameFAQs for guides if you need any help with job change quests or skill/stat builds.
-RO Empire is also a good resource for guides if you check their forums and contains valuable information on monsters, items, and item quests.
-The iRO (International RO) site has all the classes avaliable in EuphRO up for viewing, so if you're having problems deciding, I suggest checking it out.

Skins

Skins change the look of your windows. You'll have to download the good ones and you can change which skin you're using by going to the option menu. Installation is pretty easy, it goes something like this:
1. Download a skin from RO Empire or some other site.
2. Unzip the folder into your Skin folder, which should be in your RO folder.

Other Stuff
-Kafra (the maid looking NPCs) allow you to store items (which all your characters can access) and save your respawn point.
-Guide (appearance varies in each town, but they usually look like guards) will show you where shops are in each town by leaving indicators on your map.
-http://sophia.smith.edu/~lyamada/skill/, this is a good skill simulator, in case you need one. Just choose the second job class you're going for and you can enter in your skills as you get them.
-If you have any questions regarding the game, downloading, or installing (and the post in EuphRO didn't help with it), just comment here or use my AIM screenname (FallenDemonGirl) to reach me and I'll see if I can help.
-I'm usually on my acolyte Elethea if you want to whisper me for any help.

EDIT:

Commands

There's some ingame commands that you might want to type and enter into the chatbox when you first start playing.

/noctrl or /nc
-This is auto attack. Click and monsters and your character will keep attacking it.

/noshift
-If you have an acolyte, use this command so you can do a little thing called Heal Bombing. It's when you use Heal to attack undead monsters, like zombies.

@autoloot
-Automatically sends items of monsters you kill to your inventory.

@showexp
-Shows how much exp you're getting from the monsters you kill.

On an unrelated note, did the mouse fairy visit you today, sayahiei? :)
