Also OMG MY JOB. That whole place went under! It's been a year! Basically it got more and more insane, then they had this huuuuuuuuuuge mass layoff before our Thanksgiving where they just left envelopes on everyone's desk, so you came to your cubicle and you either had one that was all, "YOU HAVE A JOB" or "LAID OFF." It was chaos and they lost like 80% of the company. I originally wasn't supposed to be laid off, but my evil asshole boss, THE MORNING OF, convinced the main boss to let me go (this had been going on for weeks, he was stealing my work, deleting files, trying to make me be seen as useless). The company only lasted about a month more and it just got worse and more weird. Since they fired so much of their staff and all their fulfillment people, customers weren't getting their orders, there was credit card fraud- the evil boss was stealing equipment. Since they fired all of customer service, there was no one to take calls. EL OH EL! They eventually just folded up shop then and fired everyone else the day before Christmas Eve.
THAT IS A TALE.
Ever since I've been unemployed. Even though I am like WAY WAY WAY healthier being out of there, now it's been a year and I REALLY need a permanent job, so it's a different kind of stress- but I would rather be here and now then back then!

Well, basically! When I was first laid off I first went back to Cape Town because we needed another visit for So. Af.'s application because it had been almost 2 years since we had seen each other and then after than I went home for an extended visit. After that, it's just been a lot of reconnecting with friends, exploring the city and looking for jobs. I NEED ONE SO BAD. I am really sad we got to the holidays again and I have nothing, because no one hires in these times and now I'll have to wait until 2012!
