Whats going on?!

Honestly not much is going on... or it doesn't feel like much until I start to itemize things in my head, then its a little overwhelming.

Unless you're on my Baby filter you haven't seen a post from me in a while. I'd like to say its because I am focusing all my energy and tine at baby stuff, but then I'd be a liar. So here's where I am at:

24 weeks pregnant. Thats about 5.5 months along. 9 weeks and 5 days until I am on vacation then maternity leave. YAAAA! We have purchased next to nothing for the baby, although we have inherited a few things from Tricia (a stroller, car seat, jolly saucer, jolly jumper). Baby is still growing well, everything is on track. This pregnancy is pretty uneventful as far as I am concerned. The reason we haven't purchased anything yet is because.....

We are moving May 1. I hate moving, and hopefully this will be the last one for a few years (at least!). Our current house is just too big and too costly with the new truck, Tristan's insurance rates (frigging Ridiculous) and me going on Maternity leave. So we are looking for something smaller, cheaper, and more central to accommodate the commute to work. The problem is that the market is totally screwed for renters. Everything is overpriced and the stuff that isn't too bad is complete shit. For example, we looked at a 2 bedroom house this weekend renting for $1200/mo. Ok, its a whole house, front and back yard, decent south central neighbourhood, close to work. Its a "character home" (read: really old and needs TLC) which I am OK with if the landlords have plans or at least shown some incentive to upgrade things here and there. The main floor has original hardwood which is in rough shape but easily fixed with a sander and a new coat of wax. The paint needs to be redone like NOBODY"s business. Since I work in the HVAC/Building Maintenance industry, I look at things other renters dont even think of. I head down into the basement to find a huge 1940's furnace. Looking at things, the ducting has been upgraded in the past 10 years (but needs some joints redone) but the furnace itself is a total piece of shit! Not only is 1/4 of the basement filled with this furnace, but over 1/2 the basement is blocked off because the previous tenant had an illegal sublet in the basement. Not to mention the hot water tank was in the bocked off area, so if something ever happened to it there would be doors being kicked down. The other places we've looked at are in similar condition or have "no deal" factors like no parking or right on 118 ave. I am soooo stressed about finding a place. I just want to have a lease signed at a decent house RIGHT NOW!
There is a house we are really liking, but its not viewing until Wednesday afternoon, during my midwifes appointment. Tristan might have to go look at it himself, but I am the "people person" that makes landlords like us. We went and snooped the outside and its almost my dream house... I am just so worried about putting all our eggs in one basket and then not getting the place. We have been offered all the places we've put an application in for so far, but I dont want to bet on that going forward.

So moving stress aside, I have just about finished my newest Kampfrau gown. I have worn it to an event already but its not totally done. Just need to add the sleeves which will be lace on. Sleeves are done, need to add rings for lacing.
I have started to pattern Billy's commission, I need to order some linen for linings for his stuff.
I have a commission from Reme as well but its still untouched and really new.

We havn't been to many SCA events so far this year, just 12th Night, Investiture and Winter War. Its the slow season though and things will pick up this month. The plan is for THUA and Silver Arrow in April. We were going to camp at Silver Arrow, but unless the weather starts to act like Spring and not Winter we will probably day trip. May is empty (unless the world decides we need to go to Crown... but not likely) then June Coronet, Silver Wolf, and AT War in June. AT war is a big maybe for me. I wont be working anymore, but whether my midwife lets me travel at 34 weeks will be questionable.

See not much going on in my life at all right now!
