A new volunteer
Well after three or four years of watching Leesa volunteer at the shelter, I finally came to the realization that I will never have time in my schedule to volunteer unless I force it into my schedule. So as of last Sunday, I am now a volunteer there too. PJ has remained unusually calm, which is suprising to me as he knows my nature is very similar to Leesa's "rescue and nurture".
Leesa and I spent a couple of hours on Sunday after my orientation playing with the rabbits and guinea pigs. So far for me it isn't nearly as "Panic rescue the animals" as it has been calming. I like playing with the animals and giving them time to be just that, animals. No pressure. Although I am considering trying to train a few of the dogs and make them more personable.
I also like the the shelter is closed to the public while I'm there.
