There is some comfort in dying surrounded by one's children.
Spock took this as his cue to progress from Jim's neck to nibbling his left ear. Perfect time for Chekov and a gaggle of young women (he definitely didn't recognize these; local girls crashing a Starfleet crew party?) passed them: they almost walked by without noticing, but at the last minute Chekov did a double take, eyes widened to saucers, and with all caution thrown to the wind he raced off yelling for Sulu.
"What? But that's impossible! Didn't you say that Vulcans don't get drunk?"
"We don't," Spock slurred, "and we don't lie. Ha! That's bullshit! We lie all the time!"
