The Register has the whole story, but the, er, meat of it all is in the new logo for the Office of Government Commerce, the people who buy paperclips and pens for the rest of the UK Government.
This new sideways logo was designed at great taxpayer expense by London based design firm
FHD. Curiously their web site lists an opening for a new
Director of Brand Consultancy who would be responsible for "building on FHD's recent successes in corporate branding" and "adding value to their understanding of online brands and branding".
The ability to turn one's head 90 degrees to the left before approving a final design would be useful as well.
