Dear Yuletide Goat
Hello! Firstly, I'd like to thank you from the depths of my heart for writing for me, and apologize preemptively for any trouble you may have with whichever request of mine you are matched with. Feel free to poke around on my journal here - there's a rec post that's stickied at the top and a fandom: fanfiction tag that has some public posts that may be of help - and also at ficviendha if for some reason you want to know what my own writing looks like (perhaps that says something about me?).
And might as well start this off with the same disclaimer from last year: "I am fairly easy to please. I like surprises, I like a lot of characters, I like a wide range of topics, so really, if you're stuck banging your head against the wall, run with what you want to do and if you enjoy it I probably will too - I mean, so long as it is not something involving tentacle rape, anything involving intense detail of vomit or anything involving eye maiming which are really my only three squicks."
Still true. So relax! Have some fun. If you like what you write for me, in all probability I'll like it too.
Generally speaking, I tend to prefer gen fic to romance unless otherwise specified. I like angst and h/c but I also like fluffy things.
The Lymond Chronicles - Dorothy Dunnett - Something Lymond-centric. Ideas are introverted Lymond'y thoughts (that's the exception), pensive angst in his way, you know. I would love to see some brother times with Richard at any point, especially where they fail at getting each other but manage to reconcile, somehow? At least temporarily. UST with Jerott would be to die for, or if that's not manageable Jerott/Marthe where she is a substitute for Lymond? Lymond and Khaireddin interacting in any way would also be fantabulous.
Other than that, I feel that there isn't much to add. I'm all about Lymond, really, so anything exploring his character is amazing. And if you write for this request I will pretty much love you no matter what. >>
Rai Kirah - Carol Berg - Absolutely anything involving these two (Aleksander/Seyonne) goes here. Slashy or not, just as long as it involves this pair I'll be down with it. Would be especially intrigued by Aleksander POV at any point. Bonus points for angst and potential hurt/comfort, but go wherever you like.
Really, I mean it. Go anywhere, do anything, and I will be over the moon that fanfiction for this fandom exists at all. Just involve Seyonne and Aleksander together somehow. And I'm serious about those bonus points.
The Silmarillion - J.R.R. Tolkien - This is an either/or prompt, so don't feel obligated to put both of them in whatever you write. I'd like a sympathetic view of either of them, though - perhaps something about Maeglin's decisions, his relationship with Aredhel or Eol or Idril, why he does what he does in a way that doesn't make him necessarily the villain. If you go with Curufin, something about his relationship with Feanor, with an emphasis on his loyalty and similarity to Feanor, would be immensely interesting to me and I'd love to see where you'd go with it.
This, basically. Curufin and Maeglin are both very interesting characters to explore in terms of motivations and hidden complexity that they're not necessarily given in the text. Please give me a sympathetic view of either one of them and why they do what they do, at any point in their separate storylines.
Belgariad/Malloreon - David Eddings - Either friendship or slash, just something involving Zakath and Silk being snarky at each other, antagonistic, whatever. Run with it, whatever you feel like doing with the pair of them, I just want interaction.
I'll be honest - I'm truly rusty in this fandom, but I'm craving this. Hence, I'm asking someone else for it! I really mean it about not caring what you do with them, just as long as the fic involves both of them in the same room. Although I would prefer emphasis on the snark rather than any PWP if you choose to go that direction.
