I loved Rand in this, even though (because?) he was basically Jesus. I mean, that's how you do Jesus. Phenomenal cosmic powers + regular dude with feelings.
I was so grumpy about the one Tuon cameo in this book. ONE TUON CAMEO and she's all "I love watching damane get broken, it's so soothing la la la." :( Tuon, you are making it hard for me to continue to like you, sweetheart. Also, I have a feeling that Joline (?) is going to bond Mat or something all sekritly, since I feel like Mat being bonded keeps coming up and a universe where Tuon bonds Mat as a warder is astronomically unlikely unless she gets a whole lot of very dramatic, end-of-book-12!Rand-style character development in the space of a book where the Last Battle is also happening.
Aviendha's future vision is decidedly freaky. I hope it's a product of her imagination, and will be the kick she needs to prevent such a future. (Sort of like Egwene and the Accepted ter'angreal, maybe?) I'm kind of disappointed that she's actually going to have magic quadruplets, though. I always hoped it was just that she'd also have twins, and Elayne's twins were sort of superimposed because of the first-sister ceremony. Channeling almost from birth? What? Seriously?
I think Moggy is still in the game, although she's also mindtrapped by Moridin/Ishy. So that's Moggy, Moridin/Ishy, Graendal (probably), Cyndane/Lanfear, and Demandred. Of these five, only the males have not significantly fucked up by now.
Also, who else votes that Padan Fain fall into Mount Doom the Bore?
I vote that Padan Fain fall into Mount Bore! I do! I do! ...I'd push him, too.
I did love Rand in this. He was so...complete, finally. And also not an ass. And gave his dad a hug, which I really wanted to happen last book. And it didn't. But it did this book, so it made it better.
I am very unhappy about that too! TUON COME ON I KNOW YOU HAVE IT IN YOU work this out, please. :( I am disappoint. And you have a really good point about Mat...I wonder what Tuon would think of that. Probably not good things. Furthermore, I wonder how Mat would get talked into it.
Speaking of Warders, did Alanna actually turn up this book? Do we know where she is? Should we be concerned?
I really really hope so. D: Because that would be nasty if it did actually happen, after all that. It had better be preventable. I have a feeling it probably is? Just because Wheel of Time isn't that much of a Crapsack World. ...is it? *wibbles*
Ah, the magic quadruplets. *sigh* So many babies. And why so special, the babies don't need to be special. Or should have to work for their specialness.
Oh, that's right! Moggy's still around somewhere or other. And out of all of them, Demandred...could be anywhere.
Also, who's totally freaked of what Taim is going to do in the last book! *raises hand*
With regard to Alanna, if I remember correctly, she disappeared after receiving a letter-suggesting Verin may have something to do with her disappearance.
I’m hoping Demandred is the king of Murandy, and I second being freaked out by Taim's activities in the Black Tower.
I have no idea who Demandred is, he's really worrying me. Taim more so, though I still suspect Demandred has something to do with that somehow or other. It would just be. Hm. Who knows.
